About this calculator

Need a quick sense of what ₹10,000 equals in US dollars before a trip or an import invoice? This currency converter multiplies your amount by snapshot exchange rates stored in currency-rates.json on the site.

Rates are a static snapshot with a visible \"as of\" date — they are indicative only, not live bank or RBI reference rates. Use them for budgeting, homework, and rough shopping comparisons. For an actual wire transfer or card payment, use your bank's live quote.

Pick a from-currency, to-currency, and amount. Results show the converted total, the cross rate (1 from = X to), and the snapshot date. Supported codes include INR, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, SGD, AED, CNY, and CHF.

Example: ₹1,00,000 to USD uses the stored INR and USD rates — useful as a ballpark before you open your forex app.

Pair with the [[gst]] calculator for tax on imported goods, the [[discount]] calculator for sale prices abroad, and the [[inflation]] calculator to see how past exchange buying power changed over time.

How much is 1 USD in INR with this tool?

Set From to USD, To to INR, and Amount to 1. The converted amount is the snapshot INR value per dollar. Divide 1 by the displayed rate if you started from INR instead.

Why does my bank rate differ from the calculator?

Banks add spread, fees, and TCS on some outward remittances. This tool shows a mid-style snapshot with no fees. Treat the output as a planning number, not a tradeable quote.

Which currencies are supported?

INR, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, SGD, AED, CNY, and CHF. Select both currencies from the dropdowns. Unsupported pairs show a warning instead of a number.

Can I use this for GST on imported goods?

Use the converted value as a rough customs base, then run the amount through the [[gst]] calculator for tax. Official clearance uses the exchange rate notified by customs on the import date, not this snapshot.
