Privacy Policy

Who we are and what this covers

Quick Calci is a free calculator website run by J Jaya Prakash, a software engineer based in India. You can reach me any time at contact@quickcalci.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit quickcalci.com, why it is collected, and the control you have over it.

It applies to the calculators, the pages around them, and the analytics and ads that keep the site free to use. It does not apply to other websites you reach through links here, since I do not run those.

The short version

Most of what matters fits in a few lines. The calculators run in your browser, so the numbers you type are never sent to me. There are no accounts and no sign-up. The only data collected is the standard technical and usage data that analytics and ads need to work, and you can opt out of personalised ads whenever you want. Everything below is the detail behind that summary.

What you type stays in your browser

Almost every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The salary, loan amount, weight, or any other figure you enter is processed on your own device to show a result. Those values are not sent to a server, and they are not stored by me.

There are no accounts on Quick Calci. You never sign in, create a profile, or give your name to run a calculation. A few tools may save your last inputs in your browser's local storage so the page remembers them on your next visit, and that data never leaves your device.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, my host and analytics tool record basic technical details each time a page loads. This log data usually includes your approximate location from your IP address, your device type, your browser and operating system, the pages you open, the dates and times of those visits, and the site or search that sent you here.

This information is read in aggregate. It tells me which calculators are popular and where the site has problems, not who you are as a person.

Information you choose to send

If you fill in the contact form, you share the name, email address, and message you type into it. I use that only to read your message, reply to you, or fix the issue you reported. I do not sell it, rent it, or add you to any marketing list.

Cookies and similar technologies

Quick Calci uses cookies and similar browser storage for three jobs: keeping the site secure and working, remembering preferences such as your theme and language, and supporting the analytics and ads that pay for hosting.

The full breakdown, including the cookies that Google sets, is on the Cookie Policy page.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Quick Calci displays ads served through Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor on this site. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Quick Calci and to other websites. This includes Google's advertising cookies, which let Google and its partners show ads to you based on those visits.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised ads at aboutads.info, or, if you are in the UK or EU, at youronlinechoices.com. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you.

For the full picture of how Google handles data from sites that use its advertising and measurement services, read the page linked below.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: how many people visit, which calculators they open, and which pages need work. It relies on cookies to measure this traffic in aggregate, and it does not tell me your identity. You can block it across every site with Google's official browser opt-out add-on, linked below.

Services and third parties I rely on

To run Quick Calci, I use a small set of trusted providers. Each one handles only the data it needs for its job:

  • Hosting and content delivery: serves the site over a global network and keeps it fast and online.
  • Google AdSense: selects, displays, and measures the ads that fund the site.
  • Google Analytics: reports aggregate traffic and usage so I know what to improve.

How the data is used

The limited data described above has a small set of jobs, and nothing beyond them. In plain terms, it is used to:

  • keep the site running, fast, and secure
  • understand which calculators are popular and which pages need work
  • select and measure the ads that pay for hosting
  • reply to you when you write through the contact form

What I will never do with your data

Some promises are easier to state as a list. With the data this site touches, I will never:

  • sell or rent it to anyone
  • use it to build a personal profile of who you are
  • add you to a marketing list without you asking
  • ask you to create an account or hand over more than a calculator needs

Legal bases for processing

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, the law asks me to name a legal basis for handling personal data. I rely on your consent for non-essential cookies such as analytics and personalised ads, and on legitimate interests for keeping the site secure, working, and free. You can withdraw consent at any time through your browser or the opt-out links in this policy.

International data transfers

Quick Calci is run from India and uses global providers such as Google. This means data covered by this policy may be processed on servers outside your own country, including in places with different data-protection rules. Where that happens, the providers involved use the safeguards the law requires to protect it.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you can ask to see the personal data tied to you, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, or object to its processing, and you can ask for a copy in a portable form. Because the calculators store nothing on a server and there are no accounts, most requests will only concern a message you sent through the contact form.

To make a request, email contact@quickcalci.com and I will respond within the time the law allows.

Your choices under CCPA

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to ask that it be deleted, and to not be treated differently for using those rights. Quick Calci does not sell your personal information.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is still no shared standard for how websites should answer it, so Quick Calci does not change its behaviour based on that signal. You can control tracking instead through the cookie settings and ad opt-out tools described in this policy.

Children's privacy

Quick Calci is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact form, email me and I will delete it promptly.

How long data is kept

Contact-form messages are kept only as long as I need them to handle your request, then removed. Analytics and advertising data follow the standard retention periods set by Google. Anything saved in your browser stays there until you clear it yourself.

How your data is protected

The whole site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the host is encrypted. I keep the number of third parties small and collect as little as possible, which is the simplest way to keep data safe. No method of sending information over the internet is ever completely secure, so I cannot promise absolute security, but I take reasonable steps to protect what little is collected.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to outside websites, such as banks, government portals, or reference material. Once you follow a link, you are on a site I do not control, with its own privacy practices. Please read the policy of any site you visit from here.

Changes to this policy

I update this policy when the site changes or the rules around it change. The Last Updated date at the top of the page always shows the most recent revision, and any meaningful change takes effect as soon as it is posted.
